Our history

Devon Voluntary Action (DeVA) is the successor to the Devon Association of Councils for Voluntary Service (DACVS) and is building upon the work of the informal network. DACVS as a network had a proven track record in delivering essential support and development services, leading engagement and representation and enabling and enhancing partnership working across the County.

On 30th July 2013, DACVS made a formal commitment to begin operating immediately under this new name and all DACVS activities, rights, commitments and partnership arrangements passed from the DACVS to the new body DeVA.Example image

DeVA will provide a cohesive and formally structured partnership for CVS across Devon. The primary aim is to provide a consistent service across Devon to common standards within a quality framework. Reducing duplication and improving efficiency through enhanced partnership services.
