Crowdfunding is an increasingly popular fundraising technique. Generally it involves raising many small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via the internet. With Successful crowdfunding requires a significant investment of time and effort, but it can work well if you have strong online networks of fans and friends that you are willing to ask for money. You can also use it whether or not you have non-profit status.

This session will be of interest to anyone with responsibilities for fundraising, trustees of organisations looking to diversify their sources of income, and development officers providing advice on funding or fundraising. It will help you to diversify the range of methods your organisation uses to fund its projects and bring new skills to your organisation.

What you’ll learn

  • What crowdfunding is and how to get started
  • Which crowdfunding sites are available and how to choose between them including how to use the Crowdfund Devon platform
  • How to get attention for your crowdfunding appeal once it’s running
  • How to make your campaign stand out from the crowd!
